Developer Edwin Cabaniss has reopened the historic 2,000-seat Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas following a $14 million renovation project supported by city incentives.
The iconic Longhorn Ballroom has officially reopened in the Cedars area of Dallas, marking the completion of a $14 million renovation effort led by developer Edwin Cabaniss. The project, which rescued the 72-year-old venue from disrepair and potential demolition, includes upgrades to the historic 2,000-seat main ballroom and the development of a new outdoor performance space.
To facilitate the revitalization, the City of Dallas approved a $4.1 million incentive package and rezoned the property at the corner of Corinth St. and Riverfront Blvd. to allow for an expanded music complex. The developer is currently working to secure a listing for the site on the National Register of Historic Places.
