Developers plan a 92-room Fairfield Inn and future mixed-use expansion following the demolition of the Heart of St. Charles banquet facility.
The Heart of St. Charles banquet center, which operated on the site since 1992 and originally opened as the Three Flags Restaurant in the 1960s, is scheduled for demolition to facilitate a multiyear redevelopment plan along South Main Street. The property has remained vacant since 2019.
Work is currently entering the second phase of the site's redevelopment vision, which includes the construction of a 92-room Fairfield Inn on the northern portion of the property, with an anticipated opening in winter 2028. A subsequent third phase is expected to introduce an additional hotel and restaurant directly on the site of the former banquet center.
