DeLaSalle Education Center and Hope Leadership Academy initiate expansion plans in Kansas City as local charter schools restructure operations.
Multiple Kansas City charter schools are undergoing significant operational transitions following state commission oversight decisions. DeLaSalle Education Center is expanding into the former Lee A. Tolbert Community Academy building to create a comprehensive K-12 system, which leadership projects will eventually serve 750 to 800 students. The expansion aims to stabilize the neighborhood and provide a continuous academic feeder system.
Simultaneously, Hope Leadership Academy is set to relocate into the Hogan Preparatory Academy building as Hogan winds down its elementary grade offerings. Hope intends to nearly triple its current enrollment from approximately 100 students as it gains access to larger facilities, including a gymnasium and library. Both schools are receiving support from Blaque Kansas City, which is providing grant funding to aid in their growth and capacity-building efforts.
